Christel Gillette, C.P.M.

  • Then it came to pass, at the time for giving birth, that behold, twins were in her womb...

    Genesis 38:27-29

  • So it was, when she was giving birth, that the one baby put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread...

    Genesis 38:27-29

  • and tied it on his wrist saying, "This one came out First." Then it happened, as he drew back his hand....

    Genesis 38:27-29

  • That his brother came out unexpectedly.

    Genesis 38:27-29

  • The name of my business, Scarlet Thread Midwifery, was inspired by this scripture.

  • Birth is adventurous, contains the unexpected, and is perfectly designed to work.

  • The scarlet thread of birth and fertility connects humanity and is a universal miracle.

10 Reasons to have a Homebirth with a Midwife

  1. You Like making decisions for yourself and your family.

You have an opinion! You want to make informed decisions about your pregnancy, birth and baby. You choose an individualized plan over standard blanket care.

  2. you take responsibility for your health and wellness.

You understand that health and wellness cannot be handed out by a program, a medical board, or a governing body. Your habits and behaviors are the driving forces behind your vitality. You enjoy taking care of yourself and your growing baby.

  3. You believe Pregnancy is a normal and healthy part of life, not a condition of sickness.

Pregnancy is not something to treat, but rather something to support. You do not choose fear-driven providers.

  4. You trust the design of birth.

You believe your body can birth your baby without interference, induction, medications, and interventions.

  5. you feel safer birthing at home than in the hospital.

You want an unmedicated, vaginal delivery, and you know where to help that happen! You trust in the safety of homebirth attended by a skilled provider.
